The Jammu & Kashmir Social Welfare Department has issued a notification for J&K Social Welfare Scholarship 2023-24 for the current session. Students who are living in the state and have permanent residential proof can apply for this scheme via online mode. The main motive of this scholarship is to motivate the youth of Kashmir about education and enhance their skills to compete with the world. As per the scheme, a decent amount will be sent to the applicant's bank account directly. Who are eligible for PMSSS 2023?

• The student having a domicile of J&K.
• Passed 10+2 exam from J&K boar or CBSE affiliated schools located in J&K state.
• Whose family income 8 lac or less per annum.
• Admission on merit basis through online counseling from the PMSSS portal.
• Scholarships available for regular General / Professional / Medical degree courses prescribed a list of colleges given in the PMSSS portal for choice filling.

How to become eligible for PM Special Scholarship 2023

• Students who qualify entrance examination conducted by central/state government (NEET, JEE) are also registered on the portal to become eligible for this scheme.
• Students taking admission in MBBS / BDS etc are required to qualify NEEt examination conducted by CBSE. Although they may register on the portal to get the scholarship after admission.has to be taken from
• Students taking admission in Architecture are required to qualify NATA examination conducted by VCoA although admission has to be taken from online counseling only.
• Reservation (caste/category) as per the J&K Government police.
• Aadhar card is essential for smooth disbursement scholarship through BDT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Those students who belong to a backward caste and having good marks in their previous education, they can apply for this scheme for future education.
